At the corner of 117th Street and Frederick Douglass Boulevard, a new restaurant is slowly coming to life and our prediction of Frederick Douglass Blvd (between 110th Street and 125th) becoming “the restaurant row” of Harlem is inching its way toward reality.  Workers are on site every day hammering and painting away to ensure the new restaurant opens up in June – just in time for the summer season. Its been reported on several blogs that this corner will be the home of a new Italian restaurant, however, what I have not heard definitively is whose behind this new place?  Our tipsters say its the owner of Society Cafe and 67 Orange, along with a few quite investors. If you know scoop, tell us!

Harlemcondolife.com reported about a week ago about a new place on FDB, between 112th and 113th.  It seems like there is some chitter-chatter on the street and in the blog-o-sphere that this place is owned by Society Cafe and its called 79 Orchard?  Hmmm. If that is the case, a big congrats to Society Cafe in Harlem for expanding its business presence.  But we have one question, why is it called 79 Orchard? Someone tell us…..

We found out our answer.  This new place on Frederick Douglass is actualy called 67 Orange Street and it is owned by the same owner from Society Cafe.  Harlemcondolife checked it out and it is very nice.  The drink menu is attractive as well as the people hanging out in there! Go by and see for yourself!

Word on the Harlem street, between 112th and 113th on FDB, is that this is going to be a sandwich place. Yummy.  With the hanging of purple drapes, I assumed wine bar.  Maybe its sandwiches and wine? Tell us if you know.  Either way HarlemCondoLife looks forward to another new biz, whose product is potentially food, to the neighborhood!
