Velocissimo Cycle coming soon to Harlem

A reader tells us that a new bicycle shop is opening in South Harlem. According to the photos sent in by the reader, the bicycle shop will be called Velocissimo Cycle and will open up near the old Katrina Flower Shop space, which was on Adam Clayton Powell Jr. Blvd. between 112th and 113th Street. This will be the third bike shop to open in South Harlem after ModSquad on Frederick Douglass Blvd and Larry’s Bicycle Shop on 110th Street.

I looked up the name “Velocissimo” and it appears to be a street/racing bike brand. There is a lot biking gear available with the same name online.

Stay tuned here for more information. And a big thanks to our reader who sent in the photos! Much appreciated! Keep those tips coming in!

  1. Good spot for a bike shop – within view of Central Park.
So glad to see this space occupied and hope they are able to lease out the space next door – the old Katrina Paris space.

  2. These three shops are going to cannibalize each other. Very sad. Mod Squad gets most traffic, Larry’s has old devotees from Manhattan Valley but I don’t see where the customer base for these guys will come from…

This shop has the mechanic from a very exclusive bicycle shop down town. I personally can’t wait for the shop to open. They might not be known up town but if you ever needed a Pro- Tune Up for your Trek Madone, Cervelo, Cannondale, or Mountain bikes you may recognize these guys. Their mechanic and owner are the only one I trust with my Madone 6.9 SSL Spartacus Edition a $10,000 bicycle before any local race, or a wash before to keep my bike looking its best. They take customer satisfaction and services to the next level. They are also some of the most knowledgeable because they love cycling. Give them a chance and you can see for your self.
