A few months back this blog was the first to announce that the owners behind Harlem Tavern we’re expanding their presence on Harlem’s restaurant row by opening another establishment at 2128 Frederick Douglass Blvd. That remains the plan. However, the name of the restaurant will be Row House instead of Harlem Standard.
According to Camaron Fagan, one of the owners and managing directors of Row House, the name serves as “a nod to the classic row houses and beautiful architecture all throughout Harlem. Harlem Standard was a name originally proposed to the community board 2 years ago when they applied for their initial licenses.”
Row House shared their mission statement with HarlemGal:
“We are a seasonal American eatery with a chic subterranean cocktail bar in the heart of Harlem’s restaurant row. Our menu is designed to encourage sharing amongst friends, allowing you to sample a variety of small plates. A comfortable atmosphere with an exemplary level of service provides our guests with an elevated dining experience.”
Looking forward to trying out Row House, which is expected to open in the Fall!
