  7. Hi, I’m new to the site, and while I think its great, I waned to know if you write all of the entries or do you have any actual Harlemites (non-transplants) contributing? I also want to know what sparked your love for Harlem?

    • Hi Gia, Welcome to HarlemGal Inc. Glad to hear you like the blog. As for the more than 800 blog posts on this blog, I have written everyone of them. It’s all me, me, me. No ghost writing.

What sparked my interest? I moved to Harlem in 2006 and quickly saw much happening then and loved it right away. I said to myself how will anyone believe what I am seeing and experiencing? Simple answer: I will blog about it and soon the public will see what I see. Now I have more than 3500 email followers that have joined me in this terrific ride I am experiencing in Harlem. I am entering my fifth year of blogging and have no plans to slow down anytime soon. When you love something, you want to shout it out to the world! In this case a blog! Thanks for stopping by and hope you continue to join my blog! Cheers, HG.

  9. Hi, Is your email address listed currently functional? I have been sending several emails to your address and have never received a single reply back. My initial email may have been sent as far back as August 2012. I had wanted you to join the first year anniversary for our Harlem-based consignment shop this past weekend. Please check out http://www.trunkshowconsignment.com when time permits. Truly hope to hear back from you soon! xx

  10. Thanks to Heather J for that comment. I also have sent some emails and heard no response. Any possibility for a listing about a reading of a Harlem based author in Harlem next week?

    Dear Harlem Gal,

love your blog – I am hoping you might be interested in a story about a Harlem author doing a reading in a Harlem restaurant with a controversial novel and subject…sex and religion

Here is the invite for Monday August 12th at 7pm at Savann

    http://genesisdeflowered.eventbrite.com

    All are welcome…

A reading and discusssion sections of the new novel “Genesis Deflowered” by Harlem resident Matthew Stillman that has been described as “50 Shades of Grey meets The Bible”

——-books will be available for sale

Where many see the Bible as the pathway to Heaven, others say it should be covered in a brown paper bag because it is so, so filthy.

There are hundreds of sex acts implied in the first book of the bible. How has nobody ever described how each of them would have played out in biblical language?

If the writers and translators of the Bible had been a little less prudish we might have an entirely different relationship between sex and religion than we have now. In Genesis there is sex before marriage, threesomes, incest, group sex, kinky fetish cuckolding, gay sex and more. Isn\’t it time that you read the Bible for the dirty parts?

Using the seminal King James Bible in its Elizabethan English as spring board,\”Genesis Deflowered\” makes the beginning of the Bible come out as a sexy, readable and fun erotic novel.

“Genesis Deflowered “: equal parts holy scripture and blaspheming scandal

    Thanks so much,

Matthew Stillman – resident of West 123rd off 8th for 14 years
