One response to “Attend World Premier Of ‘American Beatboxer’ at Harlem’s Schomburg Center May 15

  1. I was at the premier at the Schomburg and was quiet surprised
that beat boxing was only now being regarded in America!

The film itself was well made and kept you drawned in. The skills that were shown from the contestants were awe inducing; left me to wonder -how did he/she/ they do that!?

What solidified my appreciation for the art of vocal percussion (Beat Boxing) and the movie is the awesome work that’s being done at the Lavelle School for the Blind and the outreach to the hearing impeared. During the panel discussion it was shared that deaf humans would react with such enthusiam to beat boxing because of the vibration that’s produced through the rhyme! This in itself put a huge smile on my face and touched my spirit. Please go out and see this movie once it’s on the screens and please learn more about the art of vocal percussion…beat boxing. It’s dope! ~cheers~akR
