One week away, Harlem Harvest Festival October 6

Some of us will be checking out the Common Ground Festival today in Morningside Park, but then a week later its time to head over to the Harlem Harvest Festival on October 6, which I believe its in its third or fourth year. The Festival starts at 116th Street and St. Nicholas Avenue. See details below and read last year’s blog post on the Harlem Harvest Festival.

Harlem Harvest Festival 2011 turned into a Samba Festival

Yesterday’s second annual Harlem Harvest Festival was a complete success filled with plenty of locals and lots of great vendors to visit and shop at! If you missed it, you missed something special-especially watching a mass of Harlemites learn to samba. That part of the agenda was a HOME RUN! The entire day at the Festival was just beautiful-in my view. Didn’t attend? No worries. The event was covered by NY1, click here to see the video or you can view photos of the Harlem Harvest Festival here! Have a great day Harlem!

Mark your calendar: Harlem Harvest Festival set for October 8

Save the date of October 8th! That is when the annual Harlem Harvest Festival takes place on the corner of 116th Street and St. Nicholas Ave! I went last year and had a wonderful time visiting all the street vendors, eating and watching the performances from the Dance Theater of Harlem.  It is a great way to kick off the Fall season.

Take a look at photos from last year’s Harlem Harvest Festival!

This past week my fellow blogger, NativeNewYorker, told you about the Harlem Harvest Festival and Fresh Food Summit taking place on October 9. Did you check it out? We did and enjoyed the event very much! The vegetable and pumpkin stands were hit – in my view. And Harlem Park to Park and Harlem 4 Center for Change did an outstanding job putting this event together. A big thank you to them for organizing the Harlem Harvest Festival. We look forward to attending next Fall!
