The Park 112 in Harlem plans to open November 29

According to its Facebook page, the long awaited The Park 112 located on Harlem’s restaurant row, aka Frederick Douglass Blvd., will open November 29. The wine bar posted a message this evening (Wednesday) on FB informing all their friends. The photo below says it all.

Lido Harlem offering wine and dinner tastings for upcoming holiday season

The holiday season is upon us, Harlem! Do you have special plans? Lido Italian Restaurant and Bar on 117th Street and Frederick Douglass is offering wine and dinner tastings during the holidays! Interested participants can schedule a wine and tasting event with friends and family or hold a company holiday party at Lido Harlem as well!

Your special event can include history, grapes and other important wine facts. For example, discover why certain foods pair better than others with your wine. Sommelier, Andrea Wobensmith will lead the tasting in a fun and relaxed setting. Lido Harlem is offering 4 and 5 course pairings for 10 or more individuals.

Pilates studio coming to Harlem?

Looks like a Pilates studio is coming to Harlem! And it’s called Balanced Pilates! A long time reader of HarlemGal Inc sent in this photo yesterday saying the photo was taken in front of a building that’s being renovated on 123rd Street between Frederick Douglass Blvd. and St. Nicholas Avenue.

Harlem’s first Red Lobster set to open to the public November 11, next to the Apollo Theater

Another chain restaurant is opening in Harlem. Red Lobster has sent out the invites announcing they are having a ribbon-cutting ceremony this coming Monday in honor of its Harlem branch opening to the public on the same day at 11 am. The Harlem Red Lobster is located next to the historic Apollo Theater.

The ribbon-cutting ceremony will include a performance by the Veterans of the 369th Sargent Association, remarks from Red Lobster executives and local officials, and Artist Alethia Brown’s work will be showcased in the RL lounge commissioned by the Harlem Arts Alliance.

Attend Brownstone Live November 9, a live show and art gallery a Harlem brownstone

On Saturday November 9th, The Davidson Family will open up their home once again for, Brownstone Live, a live show and art gallery in The Davidson Family Harlem brownstone. Musician, artist, and yogini Tamara Davidson started the salon series to showcase emerging, innovative young musicians and visual artists in an intimate, open, and loving environment. The series began the summer of 2012 and has been a cultural highlight for the New York community since.

This year performers include The Javier Santiago Trio, Bae Bro, vhvl, and Tamara. Visual artists include Sonia Louise Davis and Ivan Forde. All are invited to attend. Tickets are $10. Purchase tickets here or RSVP to shashamusic9@gmail.com.

Harlem Yo expected to open this coming weekend, second location for Chill Berry of Harlem

HarlemGal Inc reached out to Chill Berry of Harlem recently asking: when are you going to open up your Frederick Douglass Blvd location, aka Harlem Yo? And they responded: “should be opening this weekend.” This weekend is the first of November!

Chill Berry of Harlem has also released photos of the interior of Harlem Yo on Facebook! Take a look! The place looks pretty good!

A reader of HarlemGal Inc has given us the heads up that a new nail salon opened in Harlem. It’s called Bed of Nails and it’s located at 2272 Adam Clayton Powell Jr. Blvd between 133rd and 134th. The second annual East Harlem Harvest Festival is happening this weekend, October 27, at 116th Street and Park Avenue. The event starts and 10 am and will last until about 6 pm. See full list below of what to expect at this years East Harlem Harvest Festival.

Need plans for Halloween? How about spending Halloween on Harlem’s restaurant row? The Frederick Douglass Boulevard Alliance (FDBA) is organizing a Halloween in Harlem party along Frederick Douglass Blvd. Several businesses shown below with their logo will be handing out candy to trick or treaters and decorating their windows for all passerby’s to view.

For those without little ones, select restaurants will have $5 drink specials from 5 pm – 10 pm and be handing out 10 percent off coupons good retail partners with their logos listed below as well, such as BebeNoir, Bibi Salon, Harlem Flo, Franz James, Harlem Shambles and more!
