A Cantina 8th Ave coming to old Bier International space in Harlem?

A new business appears to be moving into the old commercial space where Bier International in Harlem used to be located at 2099 Frederick Douglass Blvd. There are signs posted to the glass window saying…now hiring. And most of the branding for Bier has been removed from the space. Looks like the new business might be called Cantina. Guessing from the email listed!

Is the Cantina on Adam Clayton Powell moving over one avenue? Or is this going to be an entirely new place? Hmm. If you know any details, drop us a line in the comments section!

New health and wellness business opens in Harlem, Harlem Chi Community Acupuncture

Looking to try acupuncture or need an acupuncturist close by in Harlem? There is a new clinic called Harlem Chi Community Acupuncture and it’s located at 360 West 125th Street, 2nd Floor. Harlem Chi Community Acupuncture had their grand opening on April 12.

Harlem Chi’s mission is to make acupuncture and Chinese Medicine accessible to more people and to reveal the power of this medicine to help with a variety of acute and chronic health issues-particularly when it is practiced as part of a general maintenance routine.

Acupuncture is administered via the insertion of very tiny, sterile, single-use disposable filiform (thin like thread) needles into specific points on the body that stimulate the body’s self-healing and self-regulating mechanisms. It can effectively treat both acute and chronic conditions, from stress reduction, aches/pain, women’s health (menopause, PMS, irregular menses, infertility, etc.), digestive issues, post chemo/radiation therapy, to sports injuries and sports enhancement.

To learn more about Harlem Chi, visit their website. Residents can also go online to make an appointment.

Construction moving along for upcoming Tribeca Pediatrics in Harlem

Back in March 2013, HarlemGal Inc blogged that Tribeca Pediatrics will be opening up a branch in Harlem on the corner of 114th Street and Frederick Douglass Blvd. They are moving into the old 99 cents store space, which has now started to be transformed. That was very visible today. When walking by, pedestrians can see a new glass store front.

Tribeca Pediatrics signed a 10-year, 2,500-square-foot lease at 2111 Frederick Douglass Boulevard in Harlem. On their website, it says coming soon and lists two individuals, who will be staffing the Harlem office. Go here for more information about the Harlem branch of Tribeca Pediatrics.
